Dear Patients,

We hope you and your families are doing well. We are open for in-person visits and continue to offer telemedicine appointments. In accordance with recommendations from the CDC and state and county health departments, we have instituted the following guidelines to ensure your safety:

While waiting for your appointment, be aware that we do offer additional seating available in a covered area outside the building for anyone that feels more comfortable waiting in the open air.  In addition, we can take cell phone numbers from arriving patients who prefer to wait in their cars until an exam room is available.

We greatly appreciate the trust you have placed in us, and we look forward to seeing you soon.  As always, we welcome any comments or questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Scott Rackett MD, Dina Bierman MD, and Daniela Leslie, DNP-C

Information on our office protocols.

Here at Manhattan Beach Dermatology, your safety and your well-being are always our number one priority.

In light of the coronavirus outbreak, we want to provide an update regarding what our practice is doing to prioritize the health of our patients and team members. We are monitoring the situation closely and gathering data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and State/Local Health Departments.

First, we ask that you please contact us to reschedule your appointment if you have traveled outside the country in the last 2 weeks, if you have been recently exposed to anyone with Covid 19,  or if you are experiencing any Covid 19 symptoms such as a cough, fever, difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, loss of taste or smell, muscle pain, headache or sore throat.

Second, we have temporarily waived cancellation fees for appointments so patients can feel comfortable cancelling if they are not feeling well in any way.

Third, our policy that prohibits employees from reporting to work who are showing any sign of illness will continue to be strictly enforced.  We have and will continue to provide sick leave pay for our employees.

Fourth, we are offering Telemedicine appointments in place of in-person visits when able to do so.

Fifth, even though our practice has always been a place where absolute sterility is the name of the game, here is an example of extra measures we are taking during this time to reduce any potential transmission:

Finally, if you are in fact ill and experiencing an urgent skin condition, please call the office before arrival so we can take special precautions in advance and have you enter the building through a separate entrance.

As always, we welcome any comments or suggestions you may have.
